The 911A, when configured with the TRICOR 913H Keyboard & LED Test System CCA, comprises a complete Automated Keyboard Test System.
The system is used to perform 100% acceptance testing, quality assurance certification, and incoming inspection of keyboards, keypads, and membranes.
The 911A allows accurate positioning and activation of the unit under test (UUT) without requiring operator intervention. The x-y programmable positioning gantry automatically positions the activation drive mechanism above the keyboard or UUT. Once positioned, the activation mechanism is energized to depress the switches.
The resistance of the switches is measured by the 913H and evaluated against preset pass/fail criteria. Before and during activation of each switch, the keyboard/UUT is checked for any shorts to other keys. Resistance ranges of both 0-5,000 S and 0-50,000 S are featured with other ranges available upon request.
A user-friendly Windows®95 software environment allows the user to create a computer screen graphic representation of the UUT. The software easily "learns" the relationship of the screen graphic to the UUT by jogging to each switch position. Once completed, the jogging command coordinates are saved for future testing.
Options include a variety of sizes of x-y positioning gantries, as well as the addition of sensors to verify the illumination and color of LEDs and measure the absolute brightness of LEDs on the UUTs.
Resulting test data is saved for future reference or SPC action. All data is also available through a printer hardcopy output.
